With over five different sections of water in two states, Cut Bank Outfitters will make sure guests are at the right place at the right time. Above all else, our guests leave the day knowing they made a friend for life with our guides.

We are a 365 day a year outfitter that spends our time on the San Juan and Animas Rivers. We offer trips for anglers looking to spend a full week fishing or those who want to squeeze in a quick one day adventure. We pride ourselves on being the outfitter that transitions beginner anglers into lifelong enthusiasts. Veteran anglers who have spent their life holding a rod and reel? Not a problem. The Animas River section we primarily guide is the valley float. It offers incredible scenery and excellent sight fishing opportunities with hard fighting trout. The San Juan River is a true 365 day trout factory. Our guides float this river year round and we have more than 15 miles of incredible water to choose from. Both rivers are perfect for anglers of all skill levels and consistently produce fish that will make the memory book.

Caiden BoytOwner / GuideI grew up in Northern Colorado and fishing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have spent the last decade in a drift boat helping others catch fish and create unforgettable memories. Guiding is a lifelong passion that is only getting started for Caiden. Besides being with my family, I can’t think of a better way to spend the day than being on the water trying to crack the code. I started Cut Bank Outfitters with my wife Nico, and together we strive to build a guide service people can’t get enough of. |

Dallas BealGuideOriginally from Valdosta, Georgia, I grew up chasing bass and redfish before moving to Colorado in 2017 to pursue the incredible hunting and fishing opportunities here. The rivers quickly captured my attention and guiding became a passion. When I’m not on the water, you’ll find me scouting elk and deer or exploring Colorado’s mountain peaks. Dallas is one of the guides who can’t get enough. He guides across the state on the Rio Grande, Animas, and San Juan in Northern New Mexico. Always seeming at ease, Dallas is one of those guides who consistently has great days on the water. It is a bad day to be a fish when him and his clients are on the water. Dallas also steps up to the plate and takes 5-7 charity/giveaway trips a year and continues to give back to the community. It’s hard to find someone as genuine and authentic as Mr. Beal. |

Evan ClaassenGuideI’ve been fly fishing Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado since the late 90s and guiding the region for more than ten years. My favorite place to be is in the boat hunting big, smart fish. Outside of fishing I enjoy traveling and adventuring with my wife, our dog Shiner, and our cat Moon. Evan is one of the more humble guys you can find on the water. He has spent the majority of his life guiding elk hunts and fishing trips in New Mexico and constantly works on his craft. Evan is one of those people who would rather be in a boat or on a mountain side and he can talk the talk and walk the walk. Anyone that goes on a trip with Evan should be ready to fish hard ramp to ramp. |

Derek EmsGuideRaised in Colorado and shaped by its rivers, Derek has built a life around chasing fish and sharing that passion with others. Since 2016, he has been guiding anglers across the Southwest, bringing a deep knowledge of local waters and a versatile skill set to every trip. Whether it’s rowing clients down winding river corridors or dialing in patterns on stillwater, he’s equally at home floating freestones or targeting fish in reservoirs. A Coast Guard-approved captain, Derek expands his expertise beyond freshwater. He’s spent multiple seasons guiding along the Gulf Coast in Louisiana, poling the flats and helping clients sight-cast to redfish in dynamic saltwater conditions. Known for his genuine enthusiasm and excitement to share the experience, Derek is committed to creating memorable days on the water. From beginners picking up a fly rod for the first time to seasoned anglers chasing their next challenge, he takes pride in tailoring each trip to the individual and making every outing both productive and enjoyable. Derek is one of those guys who you feel like you’ve known your whole life. He ranks among the best in the game and consistently seems to be having the most fun on the water. |
